7 September 2017: Citizens Advice LeicesterShire Switch and Save Roadshow is in Blaby this September to help people save money on their energy bills

This September, Citizens Advice LeicesterShire is holding four Switch & Save Roadshow events to help people in Blaby District to save money on gas and electricity.

Local residents who bring an energy bill or statement letter to the Roadshow can find out if they could save money by switching their energy supplier.

The Switch & Save Roadshow last visited Blaby in March 2017. Blaby residents who visited the Roadshow saved an average of £200 per year, with one household saving over £500.

Tony Wells, Citizens Advice LeicesterShire Service Leader for Blaby District, said:

“This is our second Switch and Save Roadshow tour around Blaby this year and we are hoping to reach even more people who could save a noticeable amount of money each month by switching their energy supplier.

“A better deal on energy gives households more money to spend on other things.

“Many of the best deals are now online-only, which means people who do not have access to the internet are forced to pay more.

“By bringing these Switch & Save Roadshows to local communities, we are working hard to reach the people who could benefit most from switching, many of whom are older or not online. Some have been with their supplier for years, meaning they are very likely to make a saving.

“We can also discuss other benefits, savings or grants that may be available, as well as energy saving measures.”

The first Switch and Save Roadshow will take place on Wednesday 13 September, 10am – 1pm, at Braunstone Civic Centre.

The other events are:

  • Blaby Civic Centre on Wednesday 20 September
  • Sapcote Library on Thursday 21 September
  • Glenfield Parish Council on Wednesday 27 September.

All take place between 10am and 1pm.
