16 November 2017 – Save money on energy bills this winter in Harborough

Citizens Advice LeicesterShire Switch & Save Roadshows will return to Harborough District this November and December.

Citizens Advice LeicesterShire will hold four Switch & Save Roadshow events this winter to help people in Harborough District to save money on gas and electricity. Local residents who bring an energy bill or statement letter to the Roadshow can find out if they could save money by switching their energy supplier.

The Switch & Save Roadshow last visited Harborough in June 2017. Harborough residents who visited the Roadshow saved an average of £150 per year, with one household saving over £800.

This is a dedicated campaign funded by national Citizens Advice and supported by the energy regulator Ofgem.

Tony Wells, Citizens Advice LeicesterShire Service Leader for Harborough District, said:

“This is our second Switch and Save Roadshow tour around Harborough this year, after helping residents to save thousands in June. Now we are hoping to reach even more people who could save a noticeable amount of money each month by switching their energy supplier.

“A better deal on energy gives households more money to spend on other things.

“Many of the best deals are aimed at new customers, which means that loyal customers who have not changed supplier recently are losing out.

“By bringing these Switch & Save Roadshows to local communities, we are reaching the people who could benefit most from switching, many of whom are older or not online. Some have been with their supplier for years, meaning they are very likely to make a decent saving.

“We can also discuss other benefits, savings or grants that may be available, as well as energy saving measures.”

The first Switch and Save Roadshow will take place on Tuesday 21 November, 10am – 12.30pm, at Kibworth Community Library.

The other events are:

Tuesday 28 November at Broughton Astley Library

Thursday 30 November at Lutterworth Library

Wednesday 6 December at Harborough District Council

All will take place at 10am -1pm.
