3 October 2018: Free Brexit event with lawyers will explain Brexit effect on Leicester’s legal rights
A free event: ‘Your rights and Brexit: Information Evening and Q&A with Lawyers’ will be held on the evening of Tuesday 9 October at 7pm.
The venue is the Secular Hall, 75 Humberstone Gate, Leicester, LE1 1WB.
The evening will feature a presentation from Seraphus, specialist immigration solicitors who work with the European Commission.
The presentation will cover issues such as:
- EU citizens rights in the UK after Brexit
- UK citizens rights in the EU after Brexit
- The Transition Period
- The proposed settlement scheme for EU citizens
- Working, living and studying in the UK after Brexit
The presentation will be followed by a Question & Answer session, where audience members can ask questions directly to European Commission solicitors.
The event is organised by Europe Direct East Midlands South, part of Citizens Advice LeicesterShire. We aim to ensure that Leicester residents have the information they need to enable them to prepare for Brexit.
If required, Europe Direct can arrange for translation services into any EU language.
There are a limited number of tickets remaining for this free event. Anyone wishing to attend should visit www.citizensadviceleicestershire.org and follow the link on the homepage.
Richard Evans, Chief Executive of Citizens Advice LeicesterShire, said:
“There is a lot of uncertainty around Brexit, with an ever-shortening timeframe until the UK leaves the EU on 29 March 2019.
“We know that people have questions about how Brexit will affect them, particularly EU citizens living and working in Leicester and, of course, UK citizens who wish to visit the EU.”
“We’re delighted to have the support of Seraphus for this event, as it means that anyone with a question about Brexit has an opportunity to get a response directly from a legal expert.”
“I would urge anybody concerned about how Brexit will affect them to come to this event.”
