Why work with us?
Our people and culture are the bedrock of everything we do. At Citizens Advice LeicesterShire, our staff and volunteers are united by a shared purpose: helping people across Leicestershire find a way forward through their problems.
“It's the people, the shared values and the small things we do together that make the biggest difference.”
Our values and culture
We want our values to be lived every day, not just written down. We listen to our team and act on what they tell us. Our aim is for everyone to feel valued, connected and confident in their role. In the last twelve months:
- 94% of our team would recommend us as a place to work or volunteer
- 94% our team report that someone has talked to them about their progress
- 96% of our team feel people have treated each other with fairness and respect
Our values are simple: we care, we help, we excel and we challenge. They shape how we support our clients and how we support each other.
Inclusion is at the heart of our culture. We’re a Disability Confident employer and we welcome people from all backgrounds. We make reasonable adjustments throughout recruitment and in work, and we foster a culture where everyone is respected, supported and able to do their best.
“I was really grateful for the tailored supportive approach the Wellbeing and Inclusion Practitioner gave to empower both of us to manage the reasonable adjustments we needed together.”
Recognised nationally
We have been a finalist at the CIPD People Management Awards for two consecutive years for our leadership development course in 2026 and in 2025 for best organisational design. These were proud moments for our whole team, and it reflects our ambition to be an employer of choice in our sector.
Join our team
We invest in motivated people who share our passion for what we do, and we’re committed to rewarding them fairly. Whether you’re looking for a paid role, want to volunteer, or could join our board as a trustee, we’d love to hear from you.
"I enjoy working with staff and volunteers that are dedicated to making a difference for our clients, and we care about each other."
Time to recharge
Good work starts with feeling rested. You’ll get 6.8 weeks of annual leave a year, including bank holidays, plus an extra week once you’ve been with us for five years. Want a little more? You can buy an additional week through our holiday purchase scheme, shaped by feedback from our staff.
Looking after your future
We want you to feel secure in the years ahead, not just today. Eligible staff receive a 6% employer pension contribution, double the legal minimum.
