Community and Housing Mediation

Whether you’re a housing provider, local authority, or community organisation, we help resolve disputes before they escalate – supporting stronger, more connected communities across the region.

CMC Registered Mediator 2026

Mediation is a voluntary process that brings people together to resolve conflict in a safe, impartial space. Our trained mediators support individuals and groups to have honest conversations, rebuild trust, and agree on practical steps forward.

We support people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland with:

  • Neighbour disputes (noise, boundaries, pets, parking, lifestyle differences)
  • Tensions in shared housing or supported accommodation
  • Community group or faith-based disagreements
  • Anti-social behaviour and peer conflict involving young people
  • Hate incidents or discrimination where dialogue may support understanding
  • Family breakdowns that risk someone being asked to leave the home
  • Landlord-tenant disputes (maintenance, expectations and rent)
  • Any situation where unresolved conflict could lead to isolation, harm, or homelessness

Unresolved conflict can damage relationships, affect wellbeing, and in some cases, lead to homelessness. Mediation offers a proactive, people-centred alternative that:

  • Prevents escalation into formal complaints, eviction, or legal action
  • Supports housing stability and reduces the risk of homelessness
  • Provides an impartial space for landlords and tenants to discuss concerns linked to the Renters Rights Act and agree practical next steps.
  • Restores communication and strengthens relationships
  • Builds resilience and problem-solving skills within communities
  • Promotes fairness, inclusion, and mutual respect

Our mediators are impartial and non-judgemental. We don’t take sides or impose solutions—we help people find their own way forward.

We welcome referrals from professionals and organisations working across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, including:

  • Housing associations and local authority housing teams
  • Anti-social behaviour officers and tenancy sustainment workers
  • Family support services and early help teams
  • Youth services, schools, and pupil referral units
  • Community hubs, foodbanks, and outreach charities
  • Health and wellbeing services, including social prescribers
  • Legal advice providers, advocacy services, and probation teams

If you’re supporting someone at risk of conflict, isolation, or homelessness, mediation could be a vital early intervention.
