Citizens Advice Leicestershire wants to recruit an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills who is able to effectively communicate with both clients and other members of staff. Full training will be provided.

Salary: SPC 3 £18562 Per annum with a 6% employer pension contribution

Hours: 37 hours per week

Location: Home based with some office working when circumstances allow

Job Description 

To provide administration services , including carrying out initial assessments of client need, for the Auxiliary Money Support Service and the Money Advice Team. 

Some of your duties will include:

  • Manage referrals from partner agencies, booking appointments and giving feedback to referrer where agreed.
  • Maintain AMSS diary and referral spreadsheet in conjunction with service leader, project workers and money advice administrators. 
  • Prepare charity applications, with supporting documentation, on behalf of clients as required. Liaise with clients, relevant charities, and AMSS & Money Advice Teams etc., including any necessary follow up work

Help-to-Claim Best Practice Lead

Hours:  30 hours a week

Salary: £ 27,741 per annum (£22,492 pro rata) with a 6% employer pension contribution

Line Manager: Fixed term until 31st March 2022 with possibility of extension depending on funding.

Job Description:

Citizens Advice delivers a service called Help to Claim which offers end-to-end support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim and be ready for when their first payment arrives.

As part of this, Citizens Advice has a network of Best Practice Leads who gather and share learning about how Universal Credit and the Help to Claim service is performing, develop relationships with relevant local stakeholders and share ideas and best practice. 

The role will work across a Jobcentre Plus district area to improve people’s experience of Universal Credit and Help to Claim as well as feed into the wider Best Practice Lead network and work of national Citizens Advice. Statistical research and report-writing skills are vital for this role.

Some of your duties will include:

  • Gathering learning and drawing insight on how Universal Credit and Help to Claim is working across a Jobcentre district. 
  • Working with other Best Practice Leads to develop an approach to sharing this learning with relevant partners including Jobcentres, local Citizens Advice and national Citizens Advice.
  • Developing strong local relationships with relevant stakeholders including local Citizens Advice, Jobcentres, advice agencies and other voluntary sectors organisations.

Advice Session Worker

Job Description:

When the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme and other Covid-19 related protections for households eventually come to an end, there is expected to be a significant rise in financial difficulties and debt problems, especially amongst already vulnerable people and people with long term health conditions.

To help address this Citizens Advice Leicestershire is seeking additional generalist Advice Session Workers. 

To undertake this role you will preferably need:

  • At least six months recent experience of providing Generalist Advice to the public including casework in welfare rights, housing and debt.
  • Proven ability to interview clients using sensitive listening and questioning skills to get to the root of issues and empower clients in a non-judgmental way.
  • An understanding of the financial challenges facing citizens, especially as a result of COVID.
  • Ability to work closely with and develop relationships with a wide range of stakeholders across organisations and sectors, including health and voluntary and community sector.
  • An ability to work under pressure and achieve set targets
  • Ability to commit to and work within the aims and principles of Citizens Advice Leicestershire

Job Description:

We are looking for a capable administrator to provide support to two services, based in our offices at Coalville. The work will be varied and interesting, with plenty of opportunity to gain or build on experience working in the Advice sector. 

You will have contact with clients, members of staff and volunteers on a daily basis, so we need you to be a confident communicator and a great team player. We would like you to be able to hit the ground running in terms of IT skills, but will provide role specific training to support the Generalist and Money Advice Teams.

If you can think outside the box and are a keen problem solver then we can’t wait to have you join our team. This job will be much more than photocopying and filing!

Some of your duties will include:

  • Carrying out assessments of a client’s situation, including identifying emergency requirements and deciding on the next steps
  • Booking and rearranging clients’ appointments via a range of channels
  • Confirming client appointments via a range of channels
  • Managing referrals from partner agencies, booking appointments and giving feedback
  • Maintaining the money advice diary and referral spreadsheet in conjunction with other money advice administrators and money advice caseworkers
