East Midlands Sickle Cell & Thalassaemia Network (EMSTN)

The EMSTN Advice Service provides free and confidential advice on a range of social welfare issues. The service is for anyone who is affected by Sickle Cell or Thalassaemia – including patients and their families. The service covers all of the East Midlands area, which includes clients living in Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.

Advice areas we can help with include:

  • Debt
  • Housing enquiries 
  • Employment
  • Family and relationships
  • Immigration
  • Discrimination
  • Consumer issues.

Advice will be delivered remotely to help as many people as possible. We are open 9 am – 5 pm Tuesday – Friday.

As part of email advice we will ask you for some details about yourself and the issue you are looking for help with. We will use this information to provide you with advice as well as to improve our service and inform our campaigns. We ask our clients if they are happy to share some information about their background with us. You don’t have to provide us with this information and it does not affect the advice you receive. However, it helps us ensure that we are delivering our service in a way that supports everyone and that we are reaching people from all backgrounds.
